Page’s book Degeneration /Regeneration discuses insulin for infections. We use microdoses to tone down an overactive anterior pituitary gland and an over active thyroid when we balance body chemistry. It also works for colds and cold sores.
I take 2 units of levemir u100 long acting daily for about a week. I use a flex pen. Colds and cold sores clear up in about 3 days. The pen is simple to use. Dial up 2 units and inject. If you refrigerate it it lasts about a year. Two units is about 2 drops.

Friday, April 23rd, 2010Obsessive Compulsive Behavior and Pituitary
Every obsessive compulsive person that I have seen has been pituitary deficient. Always posterior pituitary and sometimes also anterior pituitary . It seems to get worse as they get older and we know that the pituitary gland can become worse in time and a poor diet can be a factor in weakening this gland. Sugar, alcohol , caffeine and fructose can weaken this gland. Drug and alcohol addiction also has a compulsive factor to it. Treatment with pituitary reduces or eliminates the anxiety component and posterior pituitary eliminates the excessive urination and thirst that goes with alcoholism. Glandular balancing should be a part of all treatment. Unfortunately it’s not done.
The Hijacked Mind
Thursday, April 22nd, 2010The Hijacked Mind
The exact mechanism is unknown but it has been said that an addict has a hijacked mind. A possible scenario for this hijacking occurred to me while reading an endocrinology text. The words came off the page and hit me. They read, “Decreased ADH secretion even in the presence of a low water intake is consistently seen after alcohol intake and results in a large volume of urine.”
I had learned of this mechanism years before when I studied with Dr. Melvin Page, a genius in the treatment of glandular problems. This was the first time that I had seen a reference to it in an endocrinology text. Another key to the puzzle is knowing that the adrenal cortex opposes the posterior pituitary gland the source of ADH (antidiuretic hormone). This I learned from Dr. Page. He also found that some individuals namely 88% of women in the U.S. and 39% of men have an inherited deficiency of the posterior pituitary gland. The amount of deficiency can vary. He found this out with a system of anthropometric measurements and confirmed it with blood tests by giving these deficient individuals posterior pituitary substance. He also found that individuals with manic depression have a severe deficiency of the posterior pituitary gland.
Here’s the possible scenario for a hijacking. An individual is depressed, bored, experimenting, subject to peer pressure or whatever and takes a drink of alcohol. The alcohol suppresses the posterior pituitary gland, ADH decreases, there is frequency of urination, the feedback mechanism to the adrenal cortex is altered, the adrenal cortex overfunctions and cortisol levels increase. Increased cortisol results in depression. When depressed the individual may turn to more alcohol or drugs. The individual is now set up for a scenario that will further weaken the posterior pituitary gland over time and lead to more depression and worse manic depression and possibly an addiction. The mind has been subtly hijacked.
Page used urine specific gravity to check on posterior pituitary gland activity. This simple test can be routinely added to drug treatment centers because the urine is frequently tested. It can be used to check for undiagnosed manic depression. If the individual is clean for alcohol and is not drinking caffeine or taking diuretics it will be a valid test. The normal range for specific gravity of urine is 1.018-1.022. Anything lower than this represents under activity of the posterior pituitary gland. The individual is not concentrating his or her urine sufficiently. Treatment of manic depression has been successfully accomplished with posterior pituitary substance. The mechanism of this subtle hijacking should be emphasized to all individuals in drug treatment programs. If they are manic depressive their posterior pituitary gland is already deficient and probably severely deficient. Alcohol will make a bad situation even worse.
Deficiency of the posterior pituitary gland is common in many alcoholics as evidenced by the fact that they drink large quantities of liquid. It also causes other problems, weight problems, high blood pressure, type II diabetes, arthritis, periodontal disease, high decay rates, hypersexuality, unwanted hair on the upper lip and cheeks of women, spontaneous abortion, sterility in women.
Page found that this gland is the only one that can be improved by diet, namely by the elimination of sugar and alcohol and fructose in quantities found in fruit juices. While diet improves the situation most deficient individuals require supplementation.

A New Model For Medical Treatment
Thursday, April 22nd, 2010A NEW MODEL FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT
Page’s concept of body chemistry balancing represents a new model for
the treatment of many degenerative diseases. It’s based on the concept that all of the components of the glandular symphony should be playing in harmony.
His discovery of the calcium/phosphorous ratio provided a full-proof guide as to which hormones to use and the proper dosages. It can be used to determine dosages as small as
1/50 grain of thyroid. 1/12000 mg of estrogen, 1/100 mg of testosterone. and 1/800 mg of pituitary. His anthropometric measurements also tell you what glands to treat and the sequence of treatment.
I see mistakes in medical treatment every day because the balanced body chemistry concept is not used. Here are a few, type 2 diabetes is on the increase and this is due to posterior pituitary gland deficiency. It is often accompanied by high blood pressure and depression. Three or more different drugs are often used to treat all of these conditions when often only one, posterior pituitary supplement is all that is needed.
Type I diabetes is usually treated with insulin first. However this condition is usually caused by an over-active anterior pituitary gland. Page would first treat these patients with the proper sex hormones which would lower blood sugar and correct the andri/gynic balance at the same time. Insulin is added last and sometimes it is not needed at all. This same regimen can also be used with cancer patients when an over-active anterior pituitary gland is part of the problem.
Mental health disorders such as manic depression are easily treated with a combination of oxytocin and vasopressin combined in the form of posterior pituitary supplement. Page’s calcium/phosphorous ratio plus urine specific gravity will tell you when you are in balance.
The list goes on and on for most degenerative diseases. Often many drugs are used when often all that is needed is one or two supplements.
Once the body chemistry is balanced if there are still problems drugs can be considered. Drugs are the last treatment, supplements are the first.
The body will often heal itself if given a chance. Modern physicians are usually flying blind because they don’t know about Page.s calcium/phosphorous ratio and anthropometrics. I see it all the time.

I VISITED A MENTAL HEALTH CLINIC THE OTHER DAY
I went to a mental health clinic and sat in the waiting room. The place was large with a lot of patients coming and going. The weather was warm so a lot of patients were wearing shorts and I could see their lower legs. From observing just their lower legs I can usually tell the activity of the pituitary gland. They all appeared to be deficient and I would bet that none of them were receiving pituitary. What a crime.
The pharmacy was conveniently on the same floor and well staffed. They were busy but I doubt that they were dispensing pituitary. What crime. These patients were dutifully seeing their therapist and receiving drugs that do not cure their disease but just puts them in a state of suspended animation. What a crime. R. Forbes
The Blood Pressure Mess
Saturday, April 3rd, 2010The Blood Pressure Mess
Page said that normal blood pressure should be 117/70 at any age. Unless if you have arteriosclerosis, most anyone can achieve that goal and the answer doesn’t lie with blood pressure medication. A modern physician has to know his patient’s glandular pattern before attempting to treat blood pressure. Here’s how your glandular pattern affects blood pressure.
If you are hypo posterior pituitary and 88% of women are as are 39% of men, you have a good chance of having high blood pressure. This is seldom diagnosed in modern medicine. Another fact that is little known is that the posterior pituitary gland is opposed by the adrenal cortex. This was discovered by Page. The adrenal cortex puts out aldosterone so if the posterior pituitary gland is underactive (hypo) there will be elevated aldosterone levels. This is called hyperaldosteronism and it will give you high blood pressure, period. If this is your main problem then the main treatment should be to treat the posterior pituitary gland. If you are in love with drugs then there apparently is a drug that will suppress aldosterone and that is spironolactone. There is at least one study about it Use of Aldosterone Antagonists in Resistant Hypertension Posted 09/02/2004 Mari K. Nishizaka, MD; David A. Calhoun, MD. However a more sane way to do the same thing and correct other associated problems in the process is to use posterior pituitary supplement. Posterior pituitary is an aldosterone inhibitor.
Another way to correct high blood pressure is to correct excessive maleness or andricity. Excessive maleness can occur in both males and females and if the anterior pituitary gland is also overactive the condition is even worse. Page used small amounts of estrogen for this about 2-7 rat units. One rat unit of estrogen is 1/1200 mg so you can see the dosage is small.
Correction of other glands such as an overactive thyroid is also useful. Page used minute amounts of insulin for this.
All of the glandular corrections along with diet modification should be done first. Drugs are only a very last resort after all of the aforementioned correction has been done.

Do The Amish Know Something That You Don’t?
Saturday, April 3rd, 2010Do The Amish Know Something That You Don’t ?
Some of my patients are the Amish. No you won’t see a horse and buggy in front of the office. When they travel distances they usually hire a driver with a big van. Some of them are members of the Weston Price Foundation because they are keenly interested in diet and nutrition. You see they have no health insurance and they want to stay healthy. If they have a serious medical problem and have to see a doctor they all chip in to pay the bill. Some have heard of me through the Price Foundation. While they don’t own computers many have access to them.
I measured some of them and found that while they have decent diets they have glandular patterns like the general population and need glandular correction. They follow through with the Page program and do quite well, a wise choice.
Drug and Alcohol Abuse
Thursday, April 1st, 2010Peers can be the enemy in addiction treatment cases
In addiction cases graphoanalysis can be a help. Look at the height of the d stem in the small letter d. If it is about the height of bottom half or about 1 1/2 the size of the bottom half this person will be very independent and won’t respond to authority. So if you are an authority figure to them they won’t respond. They are more responsive to their PEERS. So you have to get an ally in their peer group. Otherwise consider this group your enemy and try to get them away from this group. They are the enemy of successful treatment. This is why AA meetings can be helpful as you are putting them in contact with another peer group that are more like-minded with the therapist. On the other hand those with longer d stems will respond to authority. However most addicts have shorter d stems.
